Nature Days
This class takes learning outside and into the living world of the Pacific Northwest. Students learn how to move through nature with awareness, respect, and growing independence—building real-world skills through hands-on experience in the forest and outdoors.
Together, we explore basic bushcraft and survival skills like fire safety, shelter building, knot tying, tool use, navigation, and understanding weather and natural materials. Students also learn nature awareness skills—how to observe wildlife, identify plants, read the landscape, and move safely and thoughtfully through outdoor spaces.
Alongside survival skills, we connect to homestead and life skills such as simple food preparation, gardening basics, seasonal cycles, resourcefulness, and caring for the land. The focus is always on learning to work with nature, not against it.
Lessons are hands-on, active, and adaptable for all ages. Younger students engage through exploration, imitation, and guided practice, while older students take on more responsibility, skill-building, and leadership in group challenges and projects.
